2020 Cares Award Winner Chief Matt Sabo
Hearty congratulations to our board member Matt Sabo for being named a 2020 CARES award winner by the Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities. The announcement came during the September 21 Lake County ADAMHS Board meeting.
CARES awards are given annually to first responders and frontline workers who go above and beyond in helping individuals, families, and communities deal with the adverse effects of Ohio’s opiate epidemic. Sabo was selected in the EMS category.
Sabo, Concord Township’s Fire Chief, has been an ADAMHS Board member since 2018. He’s a long-time and active member of the ADAMHS Board’s Opiate Task Force and was instrumental in planning and coordinating Lake County’s Quick Response Team.
ADAMHS Board president David Enzerra says Sabo is a very worthy recipient of this honor. “Matt is someone that we’re very proud to have as an ADAMHS Board member,” he notes. “He really embraces our mission and is a tireless advocate for our system.”
Kimberly Fraser, Executive Director of the ADAMHS Board, agrees. “One of the reasons our Lake County ADAMHS system is so effective is that we have great board members. Matt Sabo’s above-and-beyond efforts are making a real difference in Lake County. Our ADAMHS system is very fortunate to have him on our team.”
