Public Records Policy
The Lake County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board is committed to transparency and complies with the Ohio Public Records Act (Ohio Revised Code Section 149.43).
Requesting Public Records
Any person may request public records maintained by the Board. Requests may be submitted in person, by telephone, mail, or email. Requesters are not required to provide their name or the reason for the request. To help us process requests efficiently, please provide as much detail as possible about the records you are seeking.

Response to Requests
The Board will respond to public records requests promptly and within a reasonable period of time as required by Ohio law. If a request needs clarification, Board staff will work with the requester to clarify the request.
Inspection and Copies
Public records are available for inspection during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding legal holidays. Appointments are encouraged but not required.
Records will be provided electronically whenever possible. If paper copies are requested, the Board may charge only the actual cost of reproduction. There is no charge for the time spent locating, reviewing, or redacting records.
Exempt Records
Some records are exempt from disclosure under state or federal law. When applicable, exempt information will be redacted, and the remainder of the record will be released. The Board will identify the legal authority for any denial or redaction.
Record Retention
The Board maintains records in accordance with the Ohio Public Records Act and approved records retention schedules. For questions regarding this policy or to submit a public records request, please contact the Public Records Custodian using the information above.
