SANDRA TENKKU JOINS LAKE COUNTY ADAMHS STAFF
Lake County OH – Sandra Tenkku is the new Community Outreach Specialist at the Lake County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board.
Established by Ohio statute, the ADAMHS Board plans, monitors, funds, and evaluates a network of services for Lake County residents dealing with mental illness and/or substance-use disorders.
ADAMHS Executive Director Kim Fraser says Tenkku is a welcome addition to her team. “Sandra will be doing presentations and trainings to help improve understanding of mental illness, addiction disorders, and help resources,” she explained. “She’ll work with educators, first responders, community organizations, churches, and courts. We’ll also be getting her involved with initiatives like our Community Alliance of Law enforcement and Mental Health Services (CALMHS) Committee, Suicide Prevention Coalition, and Trauma Response Team.”
Prior to joining the ADAMHS staff Tenkku was Director of Housing Services for Extended Housing, one of the providers in the ADAMHS network. Her responsibilities there included program oversight, staff supervision, grant applications, and quality improvement. She holds a B.S. degree from Bowling Green State University as well as an M.B.A. from Northcentral University.
